Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9 and 1.
Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.
On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.

That Golden Time
The Sunday Escape returns this... Sunday, from now on packing four hours into three! but still stuffed with loads of brand new and independent music for your listening pleasure. This week there’ll be tracks from brand new albums from Villagers, Arab Strap, and Dehd plus new singles from CMAT, Love Fiend, and Quivers along with collaborations between Hinds and Beck as well as a very funky one between GUM and Ambrose Kenny Smith. There’s also a cover version of a classic Suede b-side by The Anchoress, and plenty more besides.
That’s joined by all the usual chat and possibly some biscuits.

Lives Outgrown
The Sunday Escape returns with another journey into new, independent, and often eclectic new music (plus biscuits). On this week’s show there’s new music from Beth Gibbons’ first new album in ten years as well as new tracks from Cloud Cult, John Grant, Of Montreal, Tindersticks, Shannon and the Clams and plenty more besides.There’s also a new Sunday Cover Supplement courtesy of Elton John and Orville Peck, plus another new and fairly topical Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz. Along with plenty more besides including the usual chat and nonsense!

On this week’s Sunday Escape Carolyn is flying solo as Paul’s away. As usual she'll have a huge stash of new albums to play music from, including records from Loren Kramar, Justice, Pet Shop Boys, The Fat White Family, Iron & Wine and St Vincent. Among the new singles there’s music from Girl and Girl, Honne, and Fred Roberts. There’s also a brand new cover version for the Sunday Cover Supplement, this time courtesy of David Byrne.
Joining Carolyn in the studio will be Gabriella Augustsson of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, and she'll be talking about a Eurovision Dance Party taking place in Hong Kong on 11th May, which will celebrate the iconic music contest as well as the 50th anniversary of ABBA’s win back in 1974. You can expect a couple of Eurovision classics, as well as a discussion of those entrants who seem doomed to forever receive 'nil points'. All that, plus the Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz, and hopefully some biscuits!
