    Youth development and opportunities

Join Brian Wong this week as he discusses youth on the mainland.

China's youth unemployment rate has been declining with December figures showing a drop to 16.5 percent for those aged 16 to 24, down from 16.9 percent in November. Despite this, competition remains fierce, especially with around 12 million university students graduating each year.

To discuss this issue, Brian Wong is joined by Professor Li Cheng, Director of the Centre in Contemporary China and the World at the University of Hong Kong, and Mallie Prytherch, a researcher at the same centre.

Weekly Roundup / Competition of food delivery platforms

    Presenters:CM Chan and Chloe Feng

This week, the focus is on the booming delivery industry, particularly food deliveries, which have become a staple for many due to its rapid growth. On the mainland, major companies are investing billions in subsidies and discounts to attract consumers, with competition so fierce that milk tea can sometimes be delivered for just three yuan!
This competition extends beyond food—medication, electronics, and everyday items are also included. If it fits on a scooter, it can be delivered! How did this transformation occur, and what are the implications of such intense rivalry?
CM Chan and Chloe Feng discusses this topic with Kenneth Kwong, a marketing professor at Hang Seng University!
