HENRI VALENSI
This week we delve into Musicalism and its creator - Henri Valensi. Enlivening the space between Cubism and Futurism, Musicalism defined itself as visual art to which one could listen. We examine one of Valensi's early works incorporating cubist figures and fauvist colours, and anticipating musicalism - his Sur La Marche Funèbre De Chopin (1912). We also look at his Symphonie verte of 1935 and his cinepainting which he worked on from 1936-1960 - La Symphonie printanière.
