For the first edition of Global Focus we're talking about Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to China. President Xi Jinping called on the relations between China and Russia to be cherished and cared for by both sides, as the two neighbours seek to bolster economic ties. Under a new agreement, the two countries are expected to deepen strategic partnership and reinforce their 75 years of diplomatic relations, a friendship Putin described as a "stabilising" force. This year's visit also comes amidst high tensions over the war in Ukraine, with China poised to reinforce its involvement in brokering peace between Ukraine and Russia. Which sectors of the economy are most likely to benefit from this deepening cooperation? And can China bring the Russia-Ukraine conflict to an end? We'll find out. In the last part of the programme, we learn more from a research looking into the effectiveness of late treatment of stroke. 9:05am-9:50am: Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China 9:05am-9:50am: Alan Lung, Political analyst and Co-Convenor (International), The Path of Democracy 9:05am-9:30am: Brian Yeung, Co-Founder of Brainstorm Communication and author of “Stepping inside a foreign land: Russia”  9:30am-9:50am: Xin Zhang, Associate Professor at the School of Politics and International Relations, East China Normal University (Shanghai) 9:50am-10:00: New research on late treatment of strokes 9:50am-10:00am: Dr Kevin Cheng King-fai Honorary Clinical Associate Professor Department of Surgery School of Clinical Medicine, HKUMed, The University of Hong Kong
