Slope safety / Chat with Mahesh Harilela / Boao Forum for Asia

    Presenters:Azam Khan and Mike Rowse

On Monday's Backchat, we learned more about slope safety as Hong Kong enters the rainy season.

The government has launched numerous projects over the years to minimise the chances of landslides, resulting in a substantial drop in serious incidents.
But experts say we must not rest on our laurels as extreme weather brought about by climate change will continue to pose safety risks.
We talked to an official about the use of cutting-edge technology to bolster landslide prevention.
We also invited Mahesh Harilela, Family Council Convenor of the Harilela Group, to tell us about his family's history and how the city has shaped his life.
After the break, we took a deep-dive into the Boao Forum that was recently held in Hong Kong. The theme for this year’s event is: “Transitioning towards the future: Powered by Science, Technology and Innovation”.

    9:05am-9:15am: Slope safety
