    Resuming local tourism

On today’s Backchat: As Hong Kong takes its first tentative step towards resuming tourism, we’ll be asking if the government decision to allow local tour groups of up to 30 people from today is enough to save Hong Kong’s travel industry from collapse?

The local tour groups will be subject to all kinds of restrictions, with tour guides required to take mandatory COVID-19 tests and all participants required to wear identifying labels at all times.

So would you consider signing up for a local tour under these rules? Would it feel strange to travel around Hong Kong with a guide? And what kind of local tours are most likely to be successful?
8:30-9:30 Brian King, Associate Dean and Professor School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
8:30-9:30: Paul Zimmerman, District Councillor, Southern District
8:30-9:00: Tommy Cheung, Yuen Long District Councillor

    Hong Kong History

    主持人:Hugh Chiverton and Danny Gittings

On Friday's Backchat, telling the Hong Kong Story.
The permanent exhibition of the Hong Kong Museum of History will close for an extensive revamp on Monday after 20 years. What should be in the future version of our past? How will it deal with colonial history, and 'One Country Two Systems'? History and local heritage have become particularly politicized - should the display reflect or avoid this? How would you deal with June 4th, Occupy, the 67 riots or SARS?

John Carroll, Professor, Department of History and Associate Dean of the
Faculty of Arts at the University of Hong Kong
Haider Kikabhoy, Co-founder of Walk-In Hong Kong & History writer
Ian Alden Russell, Associate Professor in Cultural Studies and Director, MA
