ALEXANDER CALDER'S MUSICAL INFLUENCE
Pierre Boulez, Roman Haubenstock-Ramati, György Ligeti, Witold Lutosławski and others compared their work to mobiles, and Calder's kinetic sculptures became a source of inspiration where the individual elements move freely yet within a structured, balanced framework. My studio guest is the French Consul for Culture, Education and Science, Benjamin Cabouat.
