Village house conversions in Northern Metropolis / British PM Keir Starmer resignation / Poverty reduction report

On this programme, officials join us to shed insight on a policy paper that aims to boost rural tourism. Residents in two villages will be able to convert their houses into restaurants, guest houses or shops without prior application.
After the break, we hear from a political pundit on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stepping down from the head of the ruling Labour Party, paving the way for Britain getting its seventh PM in just over a decade. What kind of legacy does Starmer leave, and how much work lies ahead for the person who replaces him?
And finally, we speak with another lawmaker after the government released a report on the impact of targeted poverty alleviation in the city.

    Israel-Iran conflict / China-Africa ties / Centre Street Soeng5 Lok6 Festival

    Presenter:Azam Khan

On today's programme, we delved into the escalating tension in the Middle East. The United Nations is calling for restraint as Israel and Iran continue to exchange fire. China has also expressed concern and condemned Israel’s violations of Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. Tel Aviv and Tehran traded blows after Israel launched a blistering surprise attack on Iranian nuclear and military sites on Friday, killing several top generals.

We also heard about China’s growing friendship with African nations. Beijing announced last week it will grant zero tariffs on all tariff lines for the 53 African countries with which it has diplomatic relations. We spoke to an expert to find out about the significance of the move amid rising geopolitical and trade tensions around the globe.

A the end of the show, we spoke to the organisers of the Centre Street Soeng5 Lok6 Festival.
