Cuba humanitarian crisis / Hong Kong Rugby Sevens / Menopause awareness

On this programme, we looked at the latest situation in Cuba, as the growing humanitarian crisis resulting from Washington's fuel embargo continues to grip the island. Despite thousands suffering in hospitals or without food, US President Donald Trump has threatened Havana saying "you're next". Many Cubans have taken to the streets to show resistance, and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel says he will not capitulate under US threats.

After the break, we heard how preparations are coming along for the upcoming Hong Kong Sevens that will return to the Kai Tak Sports Stadium next weekend.

And to wrap up the show, we talked to an advocacy group that promotes the awareness of menopause in Hong Kong and helps women bridge the gaps in care.

DSE results announcement / Beijing supply chain expo / Pet welfare

    主持人:Azam Khan and CM Chan

On Wednesday’s Backchat, we first dived into education amid the release of the latest DSE results. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority said a total of 16 students received perfect scores in the university entrance exams – up from ten last year.
16,393 candidates, or 38.5 percent of them, meanwhile, met the minimum requirement needed for a publicly-funded university place.

How are the university admissions coming along, and for students who didn’t perform quite as well, what options are available to them? We spoke to an education expert to find out more.
After the break, we turned our attention to the Third China International Supply Chain Expo that kicked off in Beijing. The global convention, attended by over 650 companies from 75 countries and regions, showcases six core industry sectors, and will centre on the innovative enhancement of global supply chains.
We then wrapped things up by speaking to the New People’s Party about ways to improve pet welfare in the city.
