    New public hospital fees and charges / Hong Kong Red Cross Tai Po fire relief plan / Mark Zuckerberg’s fading Metaverse dream

    On Wednesday’s programme, we looked into the Hospital Authority's new charges and fees.

    Taking effect in three phases from January 1, the healthcare fee reform will charge Accident & Emergency patients according to the severity of their condition. It will also cap charges at HK$10,000 per year for each patient.
    Following the break, we spoke to the Hong Kong Red Cross about its three to five-year relief plan to support victims of the Tai Po blaze, after it received more than HK$400 million in donations.
    And lastly, American billionaire Mark Zuckerberg’s once-ambitious dream of creating a virtual world - the Metaverse - is facing challenges. He's reportedly planning to cut the division’s budget by up to 30 percent after it recorded losses.

    National Games countdown / EOC's employee mental health guide / HK Cat Expo / Carbon emission reduction in the private sector

    On Friday's Backchat, we looked at how Hong Kong is preparing to host the upcoming National Games. It's the first time that the Hong Kong and Macau SARs are taking part in co-hosting the nation's biggest sporting extravaganza, which will feature 34 competition and 23 mass participation events. How are the preparations going? We talked to the head of the Games' coordination office, Yeung Tak-keung.

    We then heard from the Equal Opportunities Commission, which recently published a guide on how companies should support employees who are suffering from mental health conditions.

    After the break, we found out more about the Hong Kong Cat Expo, which will run until Sunday at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.

    And to wrap it all up, we spoke to the Hong Kong Productivity Council on how the private sector is doing on carbon reduction.
