Basketball betting on hold / CUHK head and neck cancer study / Improved Heat Stress at Work Warning system / Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's AI clone

On this programme, we "bounce" into action with a closer look at the government's recent move to suspend the launch of basketball betting, citing the emergence of prediction markets as a potential gateway to illegal gambling.

After that, we hear from a study by the Chinese University of Hong Kong's faculty of medicine that found significant regional, age, and gender disparities in head and neck cancer incidence.

After the break, we talk to a lawmaker on the Labour Department's decision to include monitoring stations in nine more locations to better decide whether to issue a Heat Stress at Work Warning.

And to wrap up the programme, our AI consultant tells us how Meta is building an AI clone of its CEO Mark Zuckerberg to engage with employees in his stead.

AI talent race / Data Summit 2025 / Underwater performing arts

    主持人:Mike Rowse and Rainbow Leung

On Tuesday's programme, we looked at artificial intelligence (AI) and its fiercely competitive job market, at a time when tech firms’ recruitment drives increasingly resemble those of football clubs.

Just recently, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta offered a staggering 250 million US dollars to a young Australian genius, furthering competition and raising the bar in the recruitment war for tech talent.  Are these efforts to lure top talent fostering competition or creating inequalities?

After the break, we stayed in the tech sphere and learned more about a data summit that took place here in Hong Kong. The event brought together hundreds of industry stakeholders, with connectivity being the key highlight.

And finally, we dived into the magical world of mermaids. Our presenters spoke to the artists and organisers of the Hong Kong Underwater Performing Arts Association on their new project.

    9:05am-9:30am: AI talent race

    Speakers:

Roy Ying, Co-Chair of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management’s Advocacy and Policy Research Committee

William Gazeley, Co-Founder of IRAI Labs

    9:32am-9:43am: Data Summit 2025

Kyle Hung, Head of Financial Market Infrastructures at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority
