The Art of Gardens in East and West; Propersperity and Magnificence
The Museum of Art is presenting the exhibition “Blooming: The Art of Gardens in East and West”, with treasures from the Palace Museum in Beijing, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Palace of Versailles in France, and the HKMoA itself.
Over a hundred stunning paintings and artifacts will walk you through garden design, tours, and appreciation – from Emperor Qianlong’s lavish Qing Dynasty gardens to King Louis XIV’s Versailles. There're also two original Monet masterpieces — Water Lily Pond and Water Lilies — on loan from Chicago. The exhibition runs until 29 July.
