The Hong Kong International Young Readers Festival 2018 will be held from March 5-16. Radio 3 is delighted to be a media partner, once again, for this annual literary event for young people. Kate De Goldi writes fiction for all ages. Her novels include The Ten PM Question, and From the Cutting Room of Barney Kettle, have won many awards. Kate reviews children’s books on Radio New Zealand and is a frequent presenter and interviewer at literature festivals.
Vera Brosgol studied animation at Sheridan College. Her first graphic novel, Anya’s Ghost, was published in 2011 and her first picture book, Leave Me Alone!, was published in 2016. She writes and illustrates books full-time in beautiful Portland, Oregon.
Holly Thompson is a long-time resident of Japan and author of the verse novels Falling into the Dragon’s Mouth, The Language Inside and Orchards. Her picture books include the lyrical Twilight Chant, One Wave at a Time and The Wakame Gatherers. She edited Tomo: Friendship Through Fiction—An Anthology of Japan Teen Stories, a collection of 36 Japan-focused stories.
